Summary of Support Staff (Education Worker) Table

Earlier this morning, OSSTF/FEESO and the management team met for approximately seven minutes.  The purpose of the meeting was for the mediator to establish a process for moving forward.

Early afternoon, the media reported breaking news regarding the results of the Ford government’s “largest public consultation on education in the province’s history.” These results clearly show parents overwhelmingly reject class size increases and mandatory e-Learning.

With a view to discuss potential efficiencies and cost saving measures, on November 15th, OSSTF/FEESO requested data related to the grievance arbitration process and short term voluntary unpaid leaves.  OSSTF/FEESO made the same request for data on November 20th. Today, OSSTF/FEESO once again requested this data through the mediator, and received some but not all of the data late in the afternoon.

The next scheduled meeting for the Education Worker Table is December 3rd. OSSTF/FEESO remains committed to continuing the bargaining process.
